Austin Healey Sprite MKI (1958)
“If it ain’t frogeyed, it ain’t a proper Sprite!”
— by me, just now. Classic.
On a slightly more serious note, I’ll tell you really quickly why I like the Sprite.
Because it is no match for Ferrari or Lamborghini… as far as attention is concerned. The MKI Sprite just begs for attention, and he (yes, he) gets it everytime. I’ve seen a few Sprites on the road (they aren’t all broken you know) and people just look at it until their necks start to hurt.
They’re probably just trying to figure out what animal he resembles. But you can’t miss it. Ugly or not, design wise, the Sprite is a charmer. A frog just waiting to be kissed. And most of the time, fixed as well.
